We have vacancies for three temporary posts based at our office in Aberystwyth:
Library and Enquiries Assistant, Digitisation Assistant (Site Files Project) and Assistant Archivist.
1. Library and Enquiries Assistant:
- The Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales is looking to recruit a temporary full time Library and Enquiries Assistant to help make the archive and library holdings of the National Monuments Record of Wales (NMRW) available to the public based at its office in Aberystwyth. This includes bilingually assisting in-person and remote users of the enquiry service and contributing to the running of the NMRW specialist public library.
- The successful candidate will have a degree in a relevant subject such as Information Sciences, Library Studies, Archive and Records Management, Archaeology, or Welsh History.

2. Digitisation Assistant (Site Files Project)
- The Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales is looking to recruit a temporary full time Digitisation Assistant (Site Files Project) to prepare and digitise a key National Monuments Record of Wales (NMRW) collection, the Site Files, for the purposes of online access, under direction of the Senior Archivist..
- The successful candidate will have a degree in a relevant subject and experience of archive and records work, including handling archives and digital records.
- This opportunity would suit a graduate wishing to gain experience before undertaking a post graduate archive course.

3. Archive Assistant
- The Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales is looking to recruit a temporary full time Archive Assistant to carry out a range of archive tasks on NMRW’s records, both hard-copy and digital, to ensure their proper preservation, storage and accessibility, under direction of the Senior Archivist.
- The successful candidate will have a degree in a relevant subject and experience of archive and records work, including familiarity with catalogue databases and digital records.
- This opportunity would suit a graduate wishing to gain experience before undertaking a post graduate archive course.

Hours: 37 hours per week (we will consider applications from individuals seeking part-time working arrangements)
Salary: £23,258 to £26,901 per annum (pro rata), pay award pending (appointment will usually be at the minimum of the pay scale).
